Betdaq, the Sports Betting Exchange, is a Ladbrokes PLC Group business. Founded in 2000 by Irish businessman and entrepreneur Dermot Desmond, Betdaq established itself as a leading player in the online sports betting market. Its headquarters are located in the International Financial Services Centre in Dublin, and it employs over 200 people. In 2013 BETDAQ was sold to Ladbrokes for €30m.
The Betdaq exchange offers customers the unique experience and excitement of sports betting on a peer to peer basis without the need for a bookmaker. Exchange betting offers unique functionality to customers such as the ability to lay bets as well as back, and to trade their bets as odds fluctuate in response to live sporting action.
